Light of Life Trust (LOLT) conducted an 11 day, intensive tailoring training programme for 19 women beneficiaries from Khandas.
The womenwere trained in stitching and apparel designing. They made several embroidered materials, different types of bags, blouses, frocks, petticoats and salwarkameezas part of their practical training.
The women were all homemakers (from low-income households) who were delighted to be selected for this programme and given the opportunity to learn a skill that would help them become earning members of their family.
The women were also taken on an exposure visit to Industrial Training Institute (ITI),Karjat. The Principal and the teachers at the Institute gave them a warm welcome and introduced the beneficiaries to the verious courses conducted there. The women then visited LOLT’s JeevanAshaCommunity Centre at Tiware,Karjat, where lunch was served and the valedictory function was held for them.
The women were very happy to have their names imprinted on a certificate giving them a sense of identity and motivating them to make use of their newly acquired skills.
